With over 120 active members, equally split between men’s, women’s and novice squads not only are we one of the largest university clubs but we are also respected for catering for all. Participation varies from those completely new to the sport to those being groomed for the Beijing Olympics. Following our Olympians’ achievements in recent years and increasing prominence in the media, we’ve found more and more people wanting to try the sport.

NUBC has gone form strength to strength and can genuinely be considering as one of Britain’s Top Five University Boat Clubs. This is reflected in the fact that we’ve won BUSA in 9 of the last 12 years. Competing up and down the country, the Head season sees us focus on the Tideway Heads with the Regatta season concentrating on the prestigious Henley Regattas. Recent achievements have been wins at Henley Women’s Regatta, National Championships, weekend appearances at Henley Royal and International representation at the World Under 23 Championships and the inaugural EUSA Regatta.

The coming years are exciting times for NUBC. Looking to build on our success, our Trentside Boathouse is currently undergoing redevelopment with the end result being a separate ergo and weights room, changing facilities and a lounge area. Couple this with a full time coach and rapidly expanding fleet and the boat club is an excellent position for the future.
